III. Animal Nutrition Physiology Division
Research goals are
physiological aspects of animal nutrition, especially of pig and
poultry nutrition, and historically of ruminant nutrition. The
scope of work in the seventies was enzymic processes and the
effect of vitamins on ruminal processes and digestion in
ruminants: cannulated animals were used as well as experiments in
vitro were conducted in which modified fermentation techniques in
form of so called artificial rumen (pouch) were applied (ZOBAČ).
Other research projects involved various frequencies of feed
uptake, energy metabolism in poultry and use of new feeds and
additives for poultry feeding (KUMPRECHT). The effects and
efficiency of probiotics and enzymes have been studied in a
complex way within intensive international cooperation since the
early eighties (ZOBAČ, KUMPRECHT).
Research on fish
nutrition is a part of activities in this division, conducted at
the only workplace in CR. It is focused on formulations of feeds
for carp and rainbow trout, on the effects of thermally treated
feeds for fish, fat or energy role in fish nutrition and on the
effects of probiotics in feed mixtures for fish and water fowl. A
complex of aquaria was built for research purposes (PÁROVÁ,
ONDRA).

Experimental feeding of chick broilers: experiments can made in 14 groups four replications. |
